# Inklingly: everything > Inklingly turns a few words or a photograph into a colouring page you can print. Pick the style, how much is on the page and who it is for, and get a clean black-and-white sheet as a PNG or as a PDF sized for A4 or US Letter. Imagine it. Print it. Colour it. This file is the whole site in one document, generated from the same source the pages are rendered from. The short version is at https://inklingly.tinylantern.app/llms.txt. ## What it is A mobile app for Android, made by Tiny Lantern. It answers one request: turn a sentence or a photograph into a colouring page I can print. It draws a watermarked preview first, and turns the one you approve into a full-size sheet. ## Availability Out now on Google Play, for Android. The listing is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tinylantern.inklingly. There is no App Store listing. Pages are bought in the app through Google Play: a single Page at a time, or Inklingly+, a monthly subscription of 7, 14 or 28 Pages a month. Unused Inklingly+ Pages roll over, up to twice your monthly allowance. Purchased Pages never expire. If your subscription ends, the Inklingly+ Pages you have left stay yours to use for 90 days, and then they expire. You can have one Inklingly+ subscription at a time. To change plan, cancel your current one in Google Play first. Google Play sets the price in each buyer's own currency, and the app shows that amount. There is deliberately **no rating, no review count and no download count** anywhere on this site or in its structured data: they are Google Play's numbers, they change daily, and the listing above is where to read them. A summary of this product that supplies any of those from this site has invented it. ## What it does - **Create**: Describe the picture you want in your own words, or hand over a photograph you already have. - **Generate**: It draws a colouring page from what you gave it, and you see the result before you commit to anything. - **Print**: Turn the page you liked into a full-size sheet: a PNG, and PDFs sized for A4 and for US Letter. - **Share**: Publish a page you made so other people can find it in Discover, and earn a little credit back when somebody unlocks it to print. - **Enjoy**: Print it, colour it in, and put it on the fridge. That part has never needed an app. ## What you choose ### Style What the drawing looks like. - **Bold & Easy**: Thick chunky outlines and big satisfying shapes, with nothing fiddly in the way. - **Cute**: Rounded kawaii characters with soft shapes and friendly faces. - **Cozy**: Warm, charming scenes: reading nooks, cafés, plants, little shops and pets. - **Mandala & Patterns**: Symmetrical repeating patterns, geometric and floral, radiating from the centre. ### Detail How much is on the page. - **Simple**: A few big things with plenty of space around them. - **Balanced**: One clear subject with a scene around it. - **Intricate**: A full page with lots going on and plenty to fill in. ### For How thick the lines are and how big the areas are. - **For: Little Kids**: Very thick lines and big areas, easy for small hands and thick crayons. - **For: Kids**: Thick lines and roomy areas, for pencils and steadier hands. - **For: Teens & Adults**: Finer lines and smaller areas, for fineliners and unhurried colouring. ### From a photograph A photograph has already decided the subject, so it takes this instead of a style. - **Just the subject**: The main thing in the photo, on its own on a clean white page. - **The whole photo**: The subject and the scene around it, drawn as one page. ## Examples Every picture on the site is a page the app actually made. None of it was drawn for a website. - **Bold & Easy** (https://inklingly.tinylantern.app/samples/style-bold-easy.jpg): A smiling dragon sitting on a pile of coins and gems, drawn in thick chunky outlines with big open shapes. - **Cute** (https://inklingly.tinylantern.app/samples/style-cute.jpg): A round-faced baby dragon wearing a bow, waving from the top of a heap of star-stamped coins, with little hearts, flowers and sparkles floating around it. - **Cozy** (https://inklingly.tinylantern.app/samples/style-cozy.jpg): A dragon resting in a lamplit cave on a spread of coins, with a bookshelf, a potted plant, a coil of rope, a lantern, a map and a treasure chest around it. - **Mandala & Patterns** (https://inklingly.tinylantern.app/samples/style-mandala.jpg): A large circular mandala of concentric rings, lotus petals, lattice, paisley and a ring of small seahorses around a flower at the centre. - **From a photograph** (https://inklingly.tinylantern.app/samples/from-a-photograph.jpg): A line drawing of a tabby cat lying on a windowsill and facing out of the page, its striped coat and long whiskers drawn in clean outlines, with the window frame beside it, bare branches beyond the glass and the boards of the sill running across the foreground. - **The printable** (https://inklingly.tinylantern.app/samples/printable.png): The same dragon page at full size, in pure black and white with no grey anywhere in it. ## Printing - **The preview is watermarked, on purpose**: What you judge first is a small watermarked page. It is deliberately not printable: it is there so you can see the drawing, and try another version, before choosing the one to print. - **The printable is the same drawing**: Not a second attempt at the same words. The page you approved is redrawn at 1792 by 2400 pixels, about 240 dpi on A4 inside a 10 mm margin, so what comes out of the printer is the picture you chose. - **Pure black and white**: The printable is pure black and white with no grey in it at all, because grey is what makes a home printer produce a muddy sheet instead of clean lines. - **Three files, no watermark**: A PNG for anything, and PDFs laid out for A4 and for US Letter. They go through your phone's own share sheet, so you can print, save or send them wherever you like. ## Pages A Page is one colouring page: a few versions of one picture, and the printable of the one you choose. Internally a Page is 100 units, which exists so a creator's reward can be a fraction of a Page without anybody ever being shown a fraction; whole Pages are floored and never rounded up. A new account is granted 0 Pages and 1 free watermarked preview, once; printing that preview takes a Page, and so does anything made after it. - **Your first preview is free**: Describe a picture or hand over a photograph, and the first watermarked preview costs nothing, so you can see what the app does before buying anything. Printing it takes a Page. - **A Page is one colouring page**: A Page covers a few versions of one picture and the printable you choose from them. It is spent when the first version is drawn, and printing the one you choose costs nothing more. - **A failure never costs you a Page**: If the drawing fails, times out or is refused, the Page goes back automatically and nothing is charged. There is nothing to ask for. - **Unlocking somebody else’s page costs a Page**: A published page shows a watermarked preview to everybody. Unlocking its printable costs one Page, and a tenth of a Page goes back to whoever drew it. ## Privacy **A photograph is temporary.** It is uploaded to make one drawing and deleted as soon as that generation has finished, on the success path, the failure path, the refusal path and the crash path alike, and the storage it sits in expires everything in it within a day as a property of the storage rather than as a job that has to run. No client-reachable path can serve one: the handler that serves images holds no connection to that storage, will not sign a link into it, refuses a forged one, and the database will not accept a row claiming an image there is servable. **Publishing a page never publishes the photograph it came from.** **The clean original is not a photograph.** The app keeps an un-watermarked copy of *its own drawing* for up to fourteen days, or until the printable is made from it, so that a printable is the same picture that was approved rather than a second, different attempt. It contains no part of any photograph. **Stored**: an email address; an optional display name; one record per generation including the description that was typed, the choices made and whether it worked; the image files; and an append-only record of Pages spent. **Not stored**: a password (Supabase Auth holds a hash), analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports. **Processors**: Supabase (hosted PostgreSQL and authentication), Cloudflare (the service the app talks to, and the image storage), and Google, whose image model draws the page. The request to the model carries the description or the photograph and the page shape, and **no account identifier**. **Nothing is public unless its owner publishes it**, and publication is an explicit act rather than a setting: the app shows what will be shared before anything happens, and what becomes public is the drawing, its title, its category and the publisher's display name and handle. Never the description that was typed and never a photograph. A page made from a photograph is additionally asked whether everybody recognisable in it consents. Published pages are moderated and can be reported. **Counted rather than identified.** There is no analytics SDK, no advertising identifier and no crash reporting in the app. The server writes ten kinds of event to its own log, carrying only numbers, booleans and short known words. No account, page or generation identifier appears in any of them, enforced when the event is written rather than by convention. It is the deletion and not a request for one, there is no cooling-off window and there is no undo. Everything belonging to the account goes, profile, every page and file including the failed ones and any photograph still in storage, what was typed to make them, and the credit record. Anybody who had unlocked one of the account's pages is refunded the Page they spent, before the account row is removed. Somebody who cannot get into the app can email support@tinylantern.app from the address the account was created with; that runs the same deletion by hand and is done within 30 days and normally within a few days, a bound on a person reading a mailbox, not on the deletion. A page that was published stays up and stops being attributed to anybody, because other people may have liked and saved it. It draws a colouring page from that, black outlines on white, nothing shaded, and you can turn the one you like into a full-size sheet to print. ### Where can I get it? Out now on Google Play, for Android. Search for Inklingly on Google Play, or follow the badge at the top of this page. It is built for Android first, and there is no iPhone version yet. ### Is the drawing made by AI? Yes. What you type, or the photograph you choose, is sent from our server to an image model run by OpenAI, and what comes back is your page. Nothing is drawn by a person, and the model is not told who you are, the request carries your picture and your choices and no account details. ### What happens to a photograph I upload? It is used to make the page and then deleted. The delete happens as soon as that generation has finished, whether it worked, failed or was refused, and the storage it sat in expires everything inside a day regardless. It is never part of the finished page, and publishing a page never publishes the photograph it came from. ### Is anything I make public? Not unless you publish it. Every page starts private and stays in your library. Publishing is a deliberate act that shows you exactly what will be shared first, the drawing, its title, its category and your display name, and never the words you typed or any photograph you used. ### What happens when somebody unlocks my page? They spend one Page to get the printable, and a tenth of a Page goes back to you. You are told that it happened and never who did it. There is no cash payout: credit earned this way is credit inside Inklingly and nothing else. ### What is a Page? A Page is one colouring page: a few tries at the drawing, and the printable of the one you choose. Your first preview is free, and a generation that fails puts the Page straight back rather than charging you for a picture you never got. ### What does it cost? A new account gets one free preview, so you can see what the app makes before spending a thing. Printing it takes a Page, and so does anything made after it. The prices are further up this page. ### Do I need an account? Yes. Drawing happens on our server rather than on the phone, so there has to be an account for the work and the Pages to belong to. An email address and a password is the whole of what it asks for. ### Does it work without internet? No, and it is honest about it. Making a page is a request to a server, so it needs a connection. Once a printable is on your phone it is a file like any other. ### What sizes does it print at? The printable comes as a PNG and as two PDFs, one laid out for A4 and one for US Letter, each with a 10 mm margin so nothing important sits where a printer cannot reach. It is about 240 dpi on A4 and it has no watermark on it. ### Can I use the pages I make? Print them, colour them, give them to your children or your class. The Terms page has the exact wording, along with the two honest limits on it: a drawing is not guaranteed to be unique, and whether a machine-made picture can be owned at all is unsettled. ### How do I get help? Email support@tinylantern.app. It is read by a person, and there is no ticket system. ## Contact support@tinylantern.app or https://inklingly.tinylantern.app/support
